Campus Navigator


The University is seeking to recruit a team of Campus Navigators across the Belfast, Coleraine and Magee campuses. Campus Navigators will provide a range of support including orientation, events, advice and guidance to staff, students and visitors. This ambassadorial role is a great way to make new friends, familiarise yourself with the environment and to develop key communication and interpersonal skills which will equip you for any future career path you may take.
 
These paid roles offer flexibility to fit in with your learning and personal schedules. There will be the opportunity to work up to 20 hours per week. With shifts available from August 2022 until April 2023.
 
Applicants should be great communicators, friendly and approachable, and be able to demonstrate high levels of punctuality, professionalism and reliability. All Campus Navigators are ambassadors for Ulster University. They will be able to demonstrate their enthusiasm for Higher Education and for Ulster University events.  
 
Campus Navigators will represent the University for initiatives and events such as: 
 
-        International Orientation and Semester activities
-        Welcome week
-        Fresher’s week 
-        Return to campus 
-        Campus tours 
-        Open Days (Undergraduate, Post-Offer, and Post-Graduate)

•                 You will be familiar with your local campus so that you can provide navigational support to staff and students
•                 You will be friendly and approachable, and possess excellent communication and listening skills, with the ability to empathise and help others
•                 You will be able to present answers and solutions in a variety of ways
•                 You will be professional, punctual, reliable, well-organised, conscientious, thoughtful and have a can-do attitude
•                 You will be a positive role model, progressing well academically, with evidence of making the most of your own student experience and an interest in different cultures and travel

Main duties and responsibilities

•                 Act as first point of call, in key campus information points
•                 Provide navigational support to students, staff and visitors
•                 Provide basic IT support to students, staff and visitors (e.g. connecting to Wi-Fi) 
•                 Provide general support for welcome activities
•                 Support on- and off-campus events and activities:
o  Support in a variety of off-campus activities such as airport meet and greet, day trips,
walking tours
o  Support on-campus and virtual activities including international orientation, virtual
and on-campus Q&A’s, coffee and chat
•                 Assist in the development of digital assets such as testimonials, tours and focus groups to support new international students
